AGA's committees pursue specific causes for its greater goals.
Currently, there are four active committees that focus on distinct causes and strive towards the AGA's overarching objectives.
All AGA members can join any committee(s) of their choice without any restrictions.

Education
Create educational material for AGA members

Brainstorm webinar topics and host them

Plan and execute the annual education conference
Meets once a month and more often before the annual conference

Expansion and JEDI
Expand underserved positions and enhance diversity

Identify key stakeholders in underserved areas to create new positions

Create documents and resource to justify the creation of new positions

Provide outreach to underserved high schools, undergraduate and graduate programs

Strive to break down barriers to allow easier pathways for perspective genetic counseling student

Licensure
Pursue licensing ability for Arizona

Work to obtain licensure for AZ genetic counselors

Plan various social events throughout the year

Dedicated to supporting students and genetic counselors by emphasizing research, publication,
funding, and education.
